We've got you covered

Job searches are tough, but getting off on the right foot can really move things in the right direction. That's where a great cover letter comes in. A well-written cover letter not only introduces you to prospective employers, it begins the process of selling yourself as the best candidate for the job.

Sometimes, though, it's hard to decide what to say. First of all, relax--you're writing about yourself, a subject you probably know pretty well. The most important rule is to explain how your experience makes you a perfect fit for the job you want. We'll show you how.

Before You Begin

It's important to have an up-to-date resume that lists your major projects and accomplishments, since you'll be using the same basic information to write your cover letter. (Besides, you'll need to include a copy of your resume when you send your letter.) If you don't have a resume available just yet, a performance review from a supervisor that lists your strengths and completed projects will also work toward helping you word your letter.
